Nonnative was founded in 1999 by Satoshi Saffen and rapidly emerged as a major player in Japan’s Urahara fashion movement—a countercultural style scene rooted in Tokyo’s Harajuku district. The Design: Where Tradition Meets Contemporary Craftsmanship

First released in 1973, Timberland’s 6-Inch Boot was a breakthrough in waterproof footwear design on its release. The boot introduced innovative injection moulding technology that allowed the leather upper to be fused to a rugged rubber sole.
 

Having quickly won over workers who needed a reliable boot that protected against the elements, the 6-Inch Boot soon began attracting a far broader audience. Today, the 6-Inch Boot remains a testament to the brand’s dedication to creating shoes known for their craftsmanship, comfort and unwavering commitment to performance.

Premium Materials: Elevating the Experience

At its core, the Timberland x Nonnative collaboration reinvents the 6-inch boot with a luxurious hairy suede leather upper. The result is a striking visual twist on an icon, lending the shoe a modern, tactile feel without compromising on its much-loved durability.
 

Part of the appeal of suede lies in its distinct look and feel – raised fibres add depth and visual interest that goes beyond that of standard leathers.
 

Featuring a GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane, the boot tackles rain and snow comfortably. A Vibram® lug outsole also means exceptional grip on all kinds of surfaces, while an anti-fatigue removable footbed adds comfort for extended wear.
 

Set for multi-season wear, the boots use Premium Timberland® Leather, known for developing a distinctive patina over time. Additional waterproofing measures including seam-sealing and the use of durable water-resistant coatings on tongues and zippers mean the shoe is set to last. Integrated gussets further prevent water entry, reinforcing the boot’s all-weather protection.
 

The result is a bold yet highly functional new offering to Timberland’s already extensive lineup of waterproof shoes and boots.
