Timberland Boot Company To Hit The Runway At New York Fashion Week With Designer Richard Chai

TIMBERLAND BOOT COMPANY TO BE FEATURED IN CHAI'S FALL/WINTER 2010 MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SHOWS

STRATHAM, NH, February 10, 2010 – The Timberland Company announced today that select styles from the Timberland Boot Company® men’s and women’s spring 2010 collections will be featured at New York Fashion Week with Richard Chai, one of New York’s most exciting stars in contemporary men’s and womenswear. The Timberland Boot Company® women’s collection will be worn by all models at the Richard Chai – LOVE show at Bryant Park on Thursday, February 11, at 11 a.m.; and the Timberland Boot Company® men’s collection will be worn by all models at the Richard Chai menswear show on Monday, February 15, at 10 a.m.

February 2010 marks the second appearance of the Richard Chai—LOVE women’s collection on the runways of New York Fashion Week. The highly anticipated retail launch of LOVE makes its debut this week at Barneys New York locations across the country, and “reunites” it with its men’s counterpart, which is now in its fourth season.

“We’re thrilled that Richard has chosen Timberland Boot Company to be a part of his Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week shows,” said Theresa Palermo, senior director of North American Marketing for Timberland. “His uniform-inspired classics and tailored workwear pair perfectly with the Timberland Boot Company design ethic, inspired by handcrafted workwear of the industrial era. We’re excited to see the looks come to life on the runway.”

This marks the first time Timberland Boot Company® footwear will be featured on the Richard Chai runway. Styles being featured at the Fashion Week shows include the Marge Lace-Up and Lucille Canvas Leather Lace-Up for women; and the Tackhead Winter 8 Inch and Colrain Reissue 8 Inch for men.

Since its debut in the UK in 2005 and its American introduction in 2007, the Timberland Boot Company® men’s collection has resonated strongly with discerning consumers who appreciate upper-echelon quality and authentic design. The women’s collection, which debuted in fall 2009, was developed as a tribute to the strong, independent women who shaped post-industrial America, and includes modern silhouettes that are inspired by traditional menswear and tailored with a feminine twist.
