Leather Goods: The Favorites

Timeless classics

First and foremost, from our jackets to our bags,  our premium leather is soft, but durable enough to withstand whatever the weather throws at you. Finding the right leather is hard, but premium leather is in our DNA and you’ll find it in every collection. Think of these items as investment pieces: they all only get better with age.

Skye Peak Quilted Jacket

In the ’50s and ’60s it was all about the leather jacket for men – think James Dean and Marlon Brando, all attitude and brooding style. Our Skye Peak Quilted Jacket was crafted with this classic silhouette and style in mind.

A distressed finish, quilted shoulder detail, buckles on the collar and waist, and effortlessly cool hardware means it looks just as good when thrown over a casual button up as it does with a vintage T-shirt. It’s basically perfect. Moving on!

Belknap Biker Jacket

Our winter Belknap Jacket for women was so popular we had to bring it back for spring. Supple leather in cocoa gives this jacket a luscious feel in a classic biker silhouette, while heavy zippers give that classic industrial edge.

Adapted for the spring season, the cotton/linen lining will keep you cool in the sun but safe from spring chills and showers, making it versatile enough to be your go-to jacket wherever life takes you.

Savin Hill Ankle Boot

When we look at our Savin Hill Open-Weave Ankle Boot, we know warm weather has officially arrived. Its boho-chic appeal plays nicely with off-duty and weekend ensembles, equally stylish on city streets as off the beaten track. The open-weave upper lets in those warm spring breezes and the buttermilk shade is absolute perfection paired with rolled up jeans, shorts and skirts.

As with all of our boots, they’re incredibly durable too – the 15% recycled rubber outsole, recycled PET lining, and Anti-Fatigue footbed are all special features that make them the perfect companion for everyday adventures.

Did you know: Timberland strives to only use leather from silver or gold-rated tanneries?

You can’t make good shoes without good-quality leather. And that has long posed an ethical issue for Timberland. Namely, as an environmentally progressive firm, what can we do to reduce the environmental impacts required by the tanning process?

Ten years ago, Timberland and a number of other brands formed a coalition called the Leather Working Group (LWG), an organization with the objective of developing and maintaining a protocol that assesses the compliance and environmental performance of tanners, and promoting sustainable and appropriate environmental business practices within the leather industry.

Since then, tanneries have also seen improvements in air emissions, water effluent quality, waste, and restricted substance handling.

Now, Timberland strives to only use leather that comes from silver or gold-rated tanneries.

Oh and we’re not just good at leather. We’re also experts at waterproof outerwear. See our waterproof jacket and boots in action as we take them out on a rainy day.
