BACK & BETTER THAN EVER: THE FIELD BOOT

THE FALL 2016 COLLECTION

From its New England origins to conquering city streets, the Field Boot is rich in heritage, authoritative style and enduring quality.

Timberland has long been known and respected as a brand for the outdoors, and this season we’ll reimagine one of our 1983 classics as the iconic Field Boot is updated with innovative comfort technologies, full waterproofing and bold new colors and rich leathers. The Field Boot, which was born from quality craftsmanship and utility, and inspired by the elements of New England, has become an enduring style rich in our rugged, outdoor heritage – but also a cultural staple, providing off-road utility for the outdoorsman and becoming a city essential for its style and functionality.

HERITAGE BORN FROM THE OUTDOORS

Debuting in 1983, the original Field Boot was a hit with outdoorsman and hunters, who appreciated its lightweight design and minimal break-in time. At the same time, its popularity as a wardrobe staple surged. By the late 1980’s the Field Boot expanded into multiple colorways, including green and brown – unofficially dubbed “beef and broccoli” – a favorite to this day. Its utilitarian style and functionality made it the boot of choice from the trail to the city.

A BOOT OR A SNEAKER?

With a silhouette that's a cross between a sneaker and boot, it’s no surprise that the Field Boot conquered both the woods and asphalt, becoming a favored choice for hikers, hunters and sneaker connoisseurs alike.

Hunters referred to it as the “sneaker boot” for its lightweight yet durable construction, while the streetwear set viewed it similar to a basketball sneaker. Its thick padded collar and a height that was neither traditional boot nor chukka extended its appeal from the outdoors, to the city and beyond.

Offering both versatility and adaptive style, the Field Boot proved to be the perfect option to keep feet dry and comfortable in unpredictable conditions and its modern silhouette allowed it to be dressed up or dressed down for a variety of occasions.

Fast forward thirty years, and the Field Boot is still an enduring footwear style, evolving in a multitude of new materials and rich leathers for fall 2016. New applications and colors sit alongside classic favorites like the signature wheat and beef and broccoli colorways.

PURE TO THE PURPOSE

For legions of fanatics and repeat customers, the key to the popularity of the Timberland Field Boot has been the purity of its performance. Designed to trek every kind of surface, from ice and mud to grass and asphalt, these iconic boots have consistently exceeded expectations of quality and endurance.

Continuing to over-deliver on performance, technology and comfort, Timberland raises the bar in the Fall 2016 Field Boot collection, offering 100% waterproofing technology across all Men’s styles as well as adding Anti-Fatigue comfort technology to keep you comfortable all day long.
