Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Hiker:

I bought these boots a week ago. I have since clocked up about 50km's in some rugged New Zealand bush. The terrain was steep and muddy with occasional areas that have required rock climbing. So far I've walked on bright sunny days and in driving, pouring rain. These boots have performed fine. I'm impressed by the grip on steep muddy inclines. Being that it is our winter at the moment my feet have remained warm and dry throughout. I am concerned however at the durability. The boots are still damp and it appears the leather outer may be breaking down already. Will dry and clean the boots and see what happens.

Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Hiker:

I have owned White Ledge Mid Hikers for years. They have stood up to Tahoe snow and the sand in Iraq. I was disappointed that the exterior color had changed from the tan. After ordering a new pair, I was further disappointed that the exterior finish was nothing like the featured picture. The boot has a dark brown oiled look, instead of the golden brown shown. I'll keep the boot, but not order any more pairs until the color changes. Dark brown boots with faded jeans just don't work for me. Still, a great boot.

Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Hiker:

First, I have been an avid mountain biker / downhiller / freerider since 1990. I have been heavily involved in the above mentioned sports on both sides of the fence. I have owned 3 pairs of these boots for riding as they have fantastic support and the tread pattern works well for "flat Pedals", plus they stop "Ankle Biters" which are really brutal and have great traction when one must hike up the mountain. I have used almost every other footwear product out there for my sport and all are woefully inadequate when compared to these boots. That being said there are several areas that I think could be improved and it was these improvements that led me to contact Timberland who informed me in the most snooty manner that they don't accept unsolicited designs. Basically Timberland is missing out on a whole market because they won't even hear a word I have to say. I have totally trashed 3 pairs, each lasting over 3 years and with a few minor improvements they could last another 3. In a nutshell, these boots are super supportive, extremely comfortable, work well as a temporary cast :oP and do a supreme job of fending off the elements even at extremely high speeds. I would pay double if Timberland would change the sole rubber to something a bit more flat pedal resilient and add a bit more stiffness to the shank. All that being said, for [$] this boot is stellar!

Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Hiker:

I bought a pair of these less than a month ago. I hiked less than ten times in them on dirt trails. This morning I walked across a wet field of grass for about 100 yards and the front of my feet got wet. I am so ANGRY right now that I WASTED MY MONEY ON THESE!

I hope I have the receipt so I can get rid of these. Timberland used to make quality outdoor gear. Now, they obviously just want to turn out trendy shoes to make money.

I just bought these boots about 3 weeks ago. I liked the looks and style a little better than the Euro Hikers that I have had for 2 years. They have already become my favorite pair. Very comfortable. Timberland is the only brand boots I will buy from now on.

They are definately the most comfortable all around shoe I've ever owned. Being a professional hunting guide, I spend hours in some very difficult terrain and these hikers have never let me down!!!!!!

I've owned these boots for 9 months and they're great. I hike with my dogs 5 days a week through the woods, on rocky paths, up and down hilly terrain, and forge small streams. I never find myself dragging my feet and the soles, stitching, leather, and lining have held up beyond my expectations. It's a comfortable boot that will keep your feet dry and now that it's winter time, warm too. I would definitely purchase a pair again.
