Comments about Timberland Men's Classic 2-Eye Boat Shoe: I bought my first pair of Timberlands right out of college and they lasted 10 years. My second pair lasted six. My third and fourth pairs? Less than a year. Figuring I was unlucky, I bought a fifth pair, same thing. It is obvious that Timberland has outsourced or offshored it's manufacturing, and some MBA figured how how to use less glue, thinner leather, cheaper laces, and/or faster sewing to save a buck a shoe. It's a pity, I was a loyal customer, but I'd never buy another pair. Funny thing, I sent them an email about this, and the only result was I ended up on their email list and now they send me a promo every monthy.

Comments about Timberland Men's Classic 2-Eye Boat Shoe: Honestly, have been wearing this model since 1988 -- can't say how many bought since, but about 8-10 pair sounds about right! Wear'em daily, but they never wear-out! I replace them only when they lose that "new" leather look, but wear the older ones for chores. I suppose that those custom made $200+ versions are great, but are they better than four pair of these bought on sale? I expect to be buried in a pair!

Comments about Timberland Men's Classic 2-Eye Boat Shoe: I've been a loyal Timberland shoe & boot customer for many many years. But I must say that their quality seems to be going down hill all the time. These 2 eye boat shoes are always my favorite, but the sole inserts always fall out -- immediately! I've even taken them to shoe repair stores to see if I can have the insert reglued or sewed in and they tell me it is a bad design by Timberland and that it happens to all of them and that they cannot fix them to a customers standards!
