Quarterly Reporting

Beginning in 2008, Timberland now reports on key CSR performance indicators on a quarterly basis. We believe this represents an evolution in our CSR reporting process from static data presentation to dynamic information exchange; from corporate statement to stakeholder engagement; and from delayed annual reports to quarterly updates. In addition, this level of disclosure and reporting will provide invaluable feedback loops to help us achieve the bold goals set forth in our long term CSR strategy.

Where can you find our updated quarterly metrics? Visit www.earthkeeper.com/csr to view our most recent CSR performance and engage with other stakeholders to discuss our material impacts as a footwear, apparel and accessories manufacturer.

Two-Year Cycle for Full CSR Reports

We have moved to publishing a complete Corporate Social Responsibility report every other year that summarizes our work in sustainability for the previous 24 months. Our most recent report was published in 2009, documenting our environmental and social footprint for the years 2007 and 2008. It is available on this page for download.

Join the Discussion – Become an Earthkeeper

In our new Earthkeeper online community (also found at www.earthkeeper.com), we seek to engage thought leaders, CSR practitioners, NGOs, investors, suppliers, consumers and employees in our Earthkeeping agenda. Timberland’s Earthkeeping mission is an important facet of our business strategy in both the traditional and CSR arenas. As an outdoor brand, we make products for consumers to use in the environment that surrounds them—that is, everything from urban green spaces to far-reaching mountains. Earthkeeping gives us the opportunity to merge our missions of commerce and justice as we strive to steward the natural and built environments, and to further the sustainability of our planet. And it makes good business sense too. After all, without the outdoors, our consumers have nowhere to use our products.

By using this technology, we hope to reach a wider audience of stakeholders and incorporate their feedback as we develop our CSR strategies. Timberland’s Voices of Challenge Dialogue puts thought leaders, issue experts, and practitioners at the heart of the online dialogue we are looking to create. We’ll begin this dialogue by posing a question that corresponds with one of our four CSR pillars: energy, product, workplace, and service. We hope you’ll join the conversation to add your voice, discuss opportunities and challenges, pose questions, and engage!
